James Barley

James is Head of UX Research at Auto Trader, and previous to that he was UX Research Manager at Shop Direct.
Prior to going ‘client-side’, James spent 16 years in various roles at agencies in London and Manchester, including Havas Lynx, TBWA, iris and Code Computerlove.

James became passionate about evidence-led design, and understanding what makes people click, after he ran his first user test by accident in 2000.
